My Favourite Podcasts and Videos for Performance, Wellbeing and Growth

Updated: Aug 29

Over the years, I’ve learned that what we feed our minds matters just as much as what we do with our bodies. The right ideas, voices, and stories can shift the way we see ourselves, our performance, and even the challenges we face. I often recommend podcasts and videos to clients, not as “quick fixes,” but as ongoing inspiration and reminders that growth comes from learning and reflecting.

Here are some of my favourites:

Podcasts I Keep Coming Back To

  1. The Imperfects – Honest conversations about being human and embracing imperfection.

  2. The Huberman Lab – Practical insights from neuroscience on health, performance, and wellbeing.

  3. 80% Mental – Exploring the mental side of sport and high performance.

  4. Finding Mastery – Interviews with world-class performers about mindset and mastery.

  5. 10% Happier with Dan Harris – A realistic take on mindfulness and its place in busy lives.

  6. Work Life with Adam Grant – Fascinating ideas on work, motivation, and meaning.

  7. All in the Mind (ABC) – Psychology explained in a thoughtful, accessible way.

  8. This Working Life (ABC) – Insights into work culture and navigating pressure.

  9. The Sports Psych Show – Deep dives into the psychology of sport.

Videos That Inspire Me

  1. The Happiness Advantage – Shawn Achor

  2. The Power of Vulnerability – Brené Brown

  3. Change Your Mindset, Change Your Brain – Alia Crum

  4. How to Make Stress Your Friend – Kelly McGonigal

  5. The Space Between Self-Esteem and Self-Compassion – Kristin Neff

  6. Uncertainty and the Power of Possibility – Ellen Langer

  7. Start with Why – Simon Sinek

Each of these resources has shaped the way I think about performance psychology, wellbeing, and human growth. Some of them challenge old ways of thinking, others give us tools we can use straight away, and all of them remind us that being human is messy but also full of potential.

If you’re looking for inspiration, perspective, or just something to spark new ideas, I encourage you to dip into a few of these. And if you do, I’d love to hear what resonates most with you.
